A dissertation is a standard requirement for graduate studies. Many students are required to accomplish a dissertation before being awarded a Master's or Doctorate degree. The dissertation format starts with an introduction of the study and why it is relevant. It must also present a review of related literature and a methodology. The thesis must be answered in the conclusion. The arguments must be presented clearly and accurately while the results should be fairly and accurately analyzed. A dissertation also includes an abstract and an acknowledgement page. A dissertation must be original and substantial stating not only facts about the study, but also the lessons learned from it. It must not be repetitive and must make the best use of a number of various sources. The sources must however be credible and must be properly cited since plagiarism is never tolerated, especially in post graduate studies. To avoid confusion, the terms used in the study should be understandable and promote accuracy.
This would also prevent any misinterpretations of the study. Generally, this is a more stringent form of writing and it must always be critical and analytical.
